If it is true that play is exterior, the question of autonomy and dependence, master and servant, teacher and pupil, control and design, in other words, power structures, immediately arises. What if play »takes on a life of its own«? When the dynamics of financial markets can be modeled in game theory but not be actively regulated? How is the relationship between constraint and freedom to be described as an element of the playful, in computer games, in art, in »social engineering«, in the relationship between humans and the environment in algorithmic cultures?
